With a powerful list of organizations served by authors Joel and Michelle Levey, the couple appears to be Meditation Coaches of the West.  In their current work, Luminous Mind, they present multiple meditation workouts that will undoubtedly strengthen the mind and stabilize the soul. “Through the disciplines of meditation, we intentionally nurture and cultivate sublime qualities of vivid aliveness that are otherwise only glimpsed in moments of grace and peak experience.”  When we become more focused we are better prepared to deal with life from the inside out; we are not at the mercy of external circumstances. 

There are five meditation categories in which the authors thoughtfully present in detail:

Each practice is addressed in great depth and exercises are provided for personal exploration.  Luminous Mind is a wonderful guide for the meditation beginner or advanced student.  It is truly one of the most comprehensive sources I have read to date.  The benefits of training the mind so that it can work for you and not against you are immense. From cover to cover, Luminous Mind provides sage advice and presents helpful techniques in honing your own practice of meditation.  A successful practice is a personal road and appears only when you find what works for you and are consistent with the practice.  This book is an extraordinary way to begin a practice and also to inspire those who have been meditating for years.
