“Everyone is loved infinitely, and with incredible compassion. There is a plan or, one might say, a kind of blueprint for everyone’s life, and, while we each are free to embrace or reject it, the Light is there to help us find it. If we can open ourselves to the Light, invoke it into our lives, we will, in time, be shown our own way—and we will recognize it as ours unmistakably because it will give us joy. Joy in living is the truest sign that we are living right.” Author Kenneth Ring brings lessons from those who experienced death only to bring back what they learned in their brief but significant visit beyond the physical. The reader is introduced to these universal truths that stand the test of time and culture as they are presented by those who will never be the same.
Ring introduces case after case of near death experience carefully giving each encounter the respect and detail they deserve. Over the years Ring has maintained contact with most of the “cases” in the book and finds friendship and a certain kinship within this metaphysical community. He believes in his work and in those who add to his vast research.
Each NDE (Near Death Experience) give a list of lessons that they felt they learned and perhaps experienced while with the “Light” and its intense wisdom:
-Appreciation for Life
-Self-Acceptance
-Concern for Others
-Reverence for Life
-Antimaterialism
-Anticompetitiveness
-Spirituality
-Quest for Knowledge
-Sense of Purpose
-Extinguished fear of death
-Belief in Life after Death
-Belief in God
etc…
Lessons from the Light focuses on the validity of each experience and even follows specific cases of the blind and their corresponding NDE. * Most of them reported having sight while experiencing the other side. Truly remarkable research and findings are presented with amazing implications.
The “life review” is another common report from the near death experience. Reliving each action, thought, word and the significance of each moment is brought back. “A man who found his life review an ordeal to watch was surrounded by a group of light beings. When he was emotionally overwhelmed, a strange but beautiful thing happened: “Every time I got a little upset, they turned it off for awhile, and they just loved me.”
The life review is simply to help us learn how we are and were affected by each other. Could we have done it differently? Would it have made a difference? It isn’t about punishment or judgment, rather to become fuller, more enlightened beings.
After the NDEers attained this new knowledge, did it change their life as they now live it? Absolutely. It changed everything, from their perspective of the world around them to the choices of being the best they can be in each moment.
The NDE gave them certain liberation from man made answers to what God is. The “Light” is pure love according to the many who made contact. Each experience found peace, joy, and an understanding for all beings that we just don’t have here on Earth…yet.
Lessons from the Light is a book of hope and compassion, and provides a certain sense of “proof” that an intelligence of love does surround and support all we do and all we are.
A fantastic marriage of science and the supernatural.
