There is a lot of talk today about manifestation and the law of attraction. Author Lynn Grabhorn had a firm grasp of this concept and utilized it in her daily life years ago, creating a life of abundance and increased consciousness. In her book, Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting, she takes the law of attraction and breaks it down leaving the reader with more than abstract ideas.

It is explained that “we create by feeling, not by thought.” Somehow we must shift our thoughts so that our feelings create or change current circumstances to more positive conditions. High vibration resonates with positive circumstances, while lower vibrational energy brings its lower counterpart. “…the energy that flows out from us comes from our highly charged emotions to create highly charged electromagnetic wave patterns of energy, making us powerful-but volatile-walking magnets.” We are, in fact, powerful creators whether we believe this law of attraction exists or not. It is a system of total self responsibility, and I’m quite sure this ruffles a few feathers. Blame becomes null and void and empowerment is indeed the essence of attraction. It is really up to the individual whether they step up to the challenge or continue manifesting their life by default (unconscious living).

A challenge that exists in this law may be others in our environment who may be on another wave length, so to speak. “…because we exist on this planet in a predominantly low frequency field of energy born of over six billion people who are vibrating more feelings of stress and fearfulness than joy, we involuntarily take in those vibrations and react to them. Which means that until we consciously learn to override the pervasive low frequencies in which we exist, we will keep recycling unpleasant outcomes in our lives day after tiresome day.” This takes practice and honing the skill of controlling energy. But think of it, if we can make ourselves immune to the toxins of others, we can keep our reality our creation, instead of letting others choose what we experience. This is not about losing compassion, but it most certainly is a form of self protection and self nourishment.

The author presents 4 steps in the process of creating the Life you desire:

1- “Identifying what you Don’t want.”

2- “From that, identify what you Do want.”

3- “Get into the feeling place of what you want.”

4- “Expect, listen, and allow it to happen.”

She believes most of us operate daily on what we don’t want and recognizes most of us are unaware of what we really do want. So starting with what you don’t want may be an easier way to move into the process. We do not want to focus on what we don’t want; rather we should use it as a guide to discover the life we want to live. “The critical point to remember here is that the more we think about anything, whether it’s something we want in our lives or something we don’t want, the faster we’re going to magnetize it into our experience.” I felt one of the most compelling points Grabhorn touches on is that what we want can actually be terrifying. We live in a world that praises the importance of dreams and living fully, yet ignores the fact that having a dream can be intimidating and that many of us are too scared to approach that world of possibilities. “…with the exception of the littlest dreams, the ones we know are prudent and obtainable, we stop dreaming altogether. And there we stay, in the bleak sanctuary of Sameville, protected by the erroneous belief that if we dream small and nothing happens, we won’t be hurt big. Dear God in heaven, what a way we’ve chosen to live.” She goes on to explain what joy feels like, what it means to be in the right place and doing what brings happiness to our spirits.

As she worked in real estate, the author would practice bringing herself into a state of high vibration. She passes those techniques on to the reader and I have to say, they work. You can actually lead yourself to where manifestation happens; why not control what is on the way?

The book goes into great depth regarding the law of attraction toward money, relationships, and health. As she discusses each concept, she attaches personal stories to aid in a deeper sense of understanding. She is a spitfire writer and I love her way of relating to the reader. The author passed in 2004, and I could not help but feel her spirit as I read her words.

This is her legacy to you…take your life and make it a work of art. Art that means something to you and touches others. Life isn’t about living small and behaving smaller…it’s about harnessing the energy of a supportive Universe and creating consciously. The possibilities of using the Law of Attraction are enormous. It will change your life and others will be changed by just being in the presence of greatness.
